Your Child’s First Visit
The OT will conduct a comprehensive evaluation with you and your child. This will include a thorough review of your child’s medical history, developmental history, feeding history, sensory needs, school performance history, and any other areas you would like to discuss. The OT will also observe your child and how he/she plays and interacts with the environment. There will also be a component of testing done between the OT and your child, which may depend on the area of need.
What happens next?
The OT will discuss functional, outcome-based goals for your child with you, and will come up with a plan of session frequency. The OT will also provide you with a comprehensive evaluation report, explaining your child’s history, areas of need, as well as areas of strength.
Our goal is to help your child develop the skills necessary to be able to participate in his/her daily life! We want to be able to give your child and your family the tools needed to allow your child to live his/her life with confidence and success!
